In short
If your LG OLED clicks in standby — seemingly “off” but making soft switch noises at odd times — that is not automatically a total failure.
Many series still run maintenance after power-off: pixel cleaner / pixel refresh and related standby jobs. That can cause short relay-like sounds. Separately, true PSU instability produces clicking without a sensible maintenance context, often with start problems.
Maintenance vs PSU — rough split
Maintenance clicks are often time-bounded (after long use, after power-off, in known refresh windows) and the set starts normally afterward. It becomes concerning when clicking feels chaotic, comes with failures, or boot becomes unreliable.

Why the PSU matters in standby
Standby and auxiliary rails must stay stable even when “off”. Aging PSU parts can collapse exactly when maintenance draws load — users hear clicks and later see boot failures.
