In short
If your LG OLED clicks twice (click-click) on power-on and then turns off or stays black, the start chain often engaged — and protection aborted the boot again.
Many users call it clicks but no picture: the relay / soft-start on the PSU (Power Supply Unit / power board) briefly engages without image or sound. Causes often sit in an aging PSU, a short toward the mainboard, or high panel load — not automatically a dead panel.
What the click-click usually means
A single switch sound at power-on can be normal. Two short clicks then darkness suggest supply and protection cycling in a short loop.
Sometimes a blink pattern on the red / standby LED follows. Flash counts vary by series and year — there is no universal official LG table for every chassis. Count and document what *your* set shows (including 3× / 4× / continuous blinking).

- No picture, no sound — only click or brief LED activity
- Sometimes blinking red LED / boot-loop-like pattern afterward
- After unplugging, brief different state, then the same click-click
Common causes: PSU, short, panel load
In practice three suspects lead: aging parts on the PSU (including film capacitors), a short or load fault toward the mainboard, or panel load that trips protection.
Deep dive on no-power and 820 nF film caps: LG OLED won't turn on. Blink codes: red LED blinking. Turns off after a successful start: turns itself off.
Safety notice
Mains voltage is lethal. Open chassis and PSU mean dangerous voltages. Electrolytics can hold charge after unplugging — discharge before measuring or desoldering. Never work under power.
